Just about as good as it gets. Exceptional front of house that makes you feel the centre of the world, before you launch into 3 courses of exceptionally skillfully prepared and delicious food.I went gamey, with pigeon breast to start and partridge to follow. Both were perfect. Especially when you get home made black pudding as well....We were there 3 hours plus and it was the perfect meal. Worth starting your evening across the road at the King Charles Tavern....
Really nice time last night. Joe does excellent service on the front of house duties. The ambiance of the bistro is really good, not too big, so you can have a nice meal for two without lots of noise. Both starters were excellent ... first time for me with a lovely rabbit tortellini. Mains were mixed ... Venison was excellent, herb gnocchi was lacking herb. Desserts were only "ok" when compared to the starter and venison. Joe knows how to do an excellent virgin bloody Mary, and the twist of orange in the ginger beer was spot on.One bad point ... the tables are very wobbly
This place is fantastic! The food is absolutely delicious and the menu is very well thought out. Joe looked after us brilliantly and we had a great time. Im telling all my friends!
Absolutely brilliant! Novel and very engaging service from Joe who also selected good wines for us. Henry in the Kitchen must be aiming for a Michelin star. Duck leg fritter, crab ravioli, cod, fillet, all with superb mouth- watering sauces. Wow. We'll be back!
