Excellent food, we went for a Sunday breakfast and seemed to be the only people in the place. The service was very good and cheery for a Sunday morning. The only thing that made it not a 5 star was the length of time the food took to actually arrive but at least it was fresh cooked.
Had a very nice stay. Friendly staff. Lovely warm comfortable clean room. Very comfortable bed. Need to underline the fact to customers that B&B is continental not full English breakfast.
Love the elephant at the market so much we have been 3 times. Fabulous location, just a short walk to the race course and right in the centre for restaurants and bars at night. The hotel has a quirky modern style with so much to look at. The rooms are lovely with great bathrooms and always clean and tidy. We have eaten here a couple of times and never been disappointed. Definitely will be going back again.
First time visitor as part of a large group. The welcome was warm and the food was very good indeed. Service seemed slow as despite pre ordering starters arrived 20 minutes after start time and mains about 45 minutes. I think it was much quicker for smaller parties . I always find large groups slow things up. I don't go out much but there was good value for money. Certainly would go again.
Stayed here for the Newbury Racecourse winter festival.Rooms are nice, the pub its self is very clean and nicely laid out.Breakfast was fantastic as was the evening meals. the only negative for evening meals is the amount you get is not very filling, but that alone is not worth reducing my score.
